Just in case you didn't think there were enough 'original' ways to hear music, a new service called Twilio SMS has popped up to try to impress you.

At the moment, Twilio SMS is offering downloads of two tracks: How to Destroy Angels' 'And the sky began to scream', from their upcoming album Welcome Oblivion, and an instrumental version of Beastie Boys' 'Shadrach', from the Paul's Boutique 8x7" Box Set.

So how does it work? You dial (310) 299-8756, press two, and choose which artist you'd like to leave a message for. Press one for Beastie Boys, two for How to Destroy Angels. Once you've left a message, press the hash key. You'll hear the new track you've just unlocked. After you hang up, Twilio SMS send you a text with a link to download the track you just heard.

It all sounds pretty gimmicky, but it could take off. The pre-recorded messages from Trent Reznor and Mike D introducing their respective tracks is a nice touch. According to Twilio SMS, additional tracks will be added soon.
