Were you outbid when you were trying to get Ian Curtis' kitchen table on eBay? Well, it seems that the world is made for second chances...

According to the seller that was auctioning the item, "the Canadian high bidder" from the last auction was a "time waster" so he's relisted it. The opening bid was set at £100 and is currently at £820.

However, former band and family members are not pleased with the auction, calling it "distasteful and upsetting"...

"Deborah and Natalie (Curtis) would like to point out that the sale of this table has nothing whatsoever to do with them," say Bernard Sumner and Stephen Morris in a statement issued by NME last week. The auctioner responded to it saying "I'm upset the way (the auction's) gone but I didn't put it on for the money, I just did it for good intentions. I want the sale to end now because it's all got out of hand." [via Pitchfork]
