Electronic musician/producer Ikonika revealed details about her upcoming second album, Aerotropolis, today.

Aerotropolis is Ikonika's first LP since her 2010 debut record Contact, Love, Want, Have dropped her blend of dubstep and funk on listeners. Ikonka explained in an interview with FACT that Aerotropolis refers to a city built around an airport and that she wanted to create and explore sounds that evoked a feeling of getting high and distant. Written over the last year, Aerotropolis' 14 tracks find the producer stretching out and not limiting her musical choices with devices or processes.

Aside from building her new record, Ikonika spends time building her own label, Hum + Buzz, with Optimum, releasing an EP, I Make Lists, last year.

Hyperdub, the label Ikonika has been most associated with, will drop Aerotropolis July 29. [via Juno]
