The summer months can sometimes be a bit of a drought for new music, as bands are either out on the festival circuit, or simply taking the time to withdraw themselves before the traditional autumn months of releases come in. However July did not disappoint quite as much as we feared, and instead we were able to swim freely in a sea of new music. From that tenuous metaphor I present to you ten of the finest new tracks last month provided, including new tracks from Bloc Party, and Tall Ships, and a cracking effort by The Babies. The highlights of the mix have to be Drop Out Venus' debut single 'I Kill Foxes', which is a dark as it sounds, along with new tracks by Base Ventura and Temple Songs, who both release cassettes on Twisted Tape Recordings this month.

  • Bloc Party - Day Four
  • Mausi - Sol (Chad Vally Remix)
  • Chateaux - Everything Seems Better
  • Base Ventura - 1:52
  • Temple Songs - I Could Kill You Anytime
  • Tall Ships - Gallop
  • The Babies - Moonlight Mile
  • Drop Out Venus - I Kill Foxes
  • Fountains - Easily Led
  • J£zus Million - No Progress
