4AD continue to be a progressive independent label. Not usually synonymous with urban music, with this year's signing of cloud-rap curator SpaceGhostPurrp they continue to demonstrate their knack for recognising that good music transcends genre partition.

The label's march into uncharted terrain started last year with the signing of LA R&B duo Inc. who released their EP 3 last year. Compared to How to Dress Well's unorthodox neo-soul, Inc are rooted in more traditional scope; the slick sexuality of Prince blending with understated contemporary electronics.

The duo’s latest offering 'The Place' showcases unrepentantly glassy production against lead singer Andrew Aged’s organic and tentative vocals; it both sounds and feels refreshing.
