Norwegian party band, Datarock kick off their UK festival appearances with Brighton's Loop festival. They dropped in to tell us more... On a scale of one to ten, how excited are you to be playing Loop and are you excited to see anyone else play? Ten and then some. Well, Riton did a stand out mix for us on our last album, so it'll be good to see him. The Glimmers are always great. Juan Maclean is gonna be exiting. Squerepusher is a must. I guess mum and The Field will have Datarockers present. Casio Kids are friends from back home so being patriots and all we'll be there. But more than anything I'm stoked to Fever Ray. I've actually never seen neither The Knife nor Fever Ray live, so that's my top priority. Have you ever been to computer camp? Yes, many times, but a long time ago... Tell us about the new album. It's all a big tribute to among others, Michael Jackson. Just look at the video for "Give It Up" - a total homage to videos such as "Beat It" and "Bad" . Tell me about Devo’s involvement. They didn't get to do all we planned for, but Gerald Casale helped out as a creative consultant and advisor. His favorite track is "Dance!" and he even wanted to play bass on it, but we simply ran out of time. Will you play a Michael Jackson tribute cover? If so, which song? I doubt it, but we'll pay trubute in many other ways. Best gig ever? Kraftwerk at Arvika, Sweden, 2004. Do you ever just want to wear a blue tracksuit instead? The enemy's outfit? Never! How cool is it to have Sims avatars? Pretty damn cool my friend. You guys seem pretty busy, how does the sleep deprivation add to the creative process? Well, check out our new album, "RED". What’s next? The release of our new single "True Stories", the new video and the stellar remixes!
