Update: Put that salt away - David Bowie has confirmed Blackstar will be released this January (the 8th, his Birthday). The first single is out on November 20th, not the 19th as previously stated.

Original Story

According to the Times of London, there's a seven-track LP called Blackstar on its way from David Bowie. It was apparently recorded at New York's Magic Shop, and is being described by the source as "completely bonkers."

The new album, which is said to be reminiscent of "seventies German bands Can and Kraftwerk," will supposedly be preceded by its title track, a 10-minute song that mixes "Gregorian chants, a soul section, various electronic beats and bleeps and Bowie's distinctive vocals," and is said to be the source of the theme tune Bowie recently composed for The Last Panthers series. According to the same source, the single is out on November 19th.

No confirmation has been given from an official source yet, so please take this all with a pinch of salt.
