Update: A statement is set to be released at 3pm. Reports are suggesting his laptop was stolen.

It seems the legitimacy of Jai Paul's self-titled debut album has been tested this morning, as journalist Owen Myers received an email today from the man himself.

Myers tweeted the following:

"I will be releasing a statement later today about the illegal leak. I have not released a new record."

Situations like this happen far often than you'd think, but considering the mystery person was charging £7 on Bandcamp for eager fans to own a digital copy of the album, it's looking pretty bad right now.
