'Tis the season; that magical time of year for good tidings and generous good will. Jack White and his Third Man Records are getting into the holiday spirit in a most altruistic way.

On November 11, White launched the Great Third Man Turkey Drive. White and Co. will be accepting charitable donations of turkeys, non-perishable food items and winter clothes on behalf of the Nashville Rescue Ministry.

As incentive, Third Man is giving away a free 7" to anyone who donates $25 (the estimated cost of a whole turkey) worth of needed items. The benevolent soul will also have his/her picture taken and added to the Wall of Fame in the record store.

Each year the Nashville Rescue Ministry hosts a banquet for those in need. This year the mission hopes to collect 1000 turkeys. Third Man's contribution is sure to help them hit its quota. To further sweeten the pot, the good Samaritan who brings the most turkeys, or turkey-equivalent items, will win the very rare Dead Weather Triple Decker record. Originally released in 2010, this LP is a 12" with a 7" hidden inside it.

The news of the Great Third Man Turkey Drive comes amidst a wave of philanthropic deeds by White. Over the summer the White Stripes/Dead Weather/ Raconteurs star helped save the Detroit Masonic Temple with a $142,000 donation. He also gave $200,000 National Recording Preservation Foundation.

While it is the season for giving, getting some cool swag in the process doesn't hurt. Donate to a good cause, and get some swanky vinyl. Visit thirdmanrecords.com for more information.
