Jack White's Third Man Records have announced that they'll be jumping into the publishing game this August. To coincide with the expansion, the publishing division will release 'Language Lessons: Volume 1'. The hardback was co-edited by Third Man's Ben Swank and poet Chet Weise.

The 321-page edition will contain both poetry and prose as well as two vinyl LPs. Contributors to the volume are wide ranging and include the likes of Richard Hell and Pulitzer Prize nominee Dale Ray Philips. The vinyl portion of the volume will contain unheard material from the likes of William Tyler and Destruction Unit.

The label released a manifesto alongside the announcement: "Third Man Books, like language lessons, will be fearless, imaginative and eclectic. We hope to be a welcome addition to what is already a very compelling and thrilling independent American literary landscape."

The package is available from 5th August, when the volume is officially released.
