The Melbourne band Jade Imagine are on the verge of releasing their debut album Basic Love, which comes out through Marathon Artists/Milk! Records on August 2nd. We recently brought you 'Remote Control', and today they continue to express their domestic woes with 'The News'.

Front-woman Jade McInally says: "I really can’t keep up with the news. No word of a lie. A story about accepting the fact that the wheels will always be turning, whether you like it or not. Sometimes it makes me angry. Sometimes I can’t stay on top of it all. This song wasn’t really in the mix to go on the record at first, but [producer/guitarist] Tim kept pushing to explore it... and it became one of the funnest and most playful to record."

Being unable to keep up with the news, whether it's because it's too complex, too heavy or just too dull, is certainly something we can all relate to, but Jade Imagine have turned that frsutrated feeling into something genuinely jolly with their song and video. Unafraid to poke fun at themselves, the band takes their dissatisfaction and thrusts it into a lighthearted and infectious indie romp, full of "doo doo" backing vocals and dance-worthy guitar melodies. Check it out below.
