Last night James Blake surprisingly revealed himself as the biggest joker in music since Steve Miller. His faked interview with Burial, which we thought was hilarious, caused more than a few ripples in the twittersphere. We heard he did it because he wanted to start a car washing business using only the tears of music nerds, but this might not be the case.

We think that 'Radio One's resident funnyman' James Blake, to use his full title, should be making headlines in the music press for something other than his tendency to troll. As shortly after the stunt he decided to make amends by played a stunning new song called '40455', the first since his Mercury music prize win. As you'd expect, it's a sultry little number, that rushes into what you think is the chorus before swerving through different emotions on it's way out. There aren't many people on the planet that can make an atmosphere with music the way that Blake does, so we're letting him off the hook for last nights prank, although we reserve the right to call him a pranker if we feel like it.
