James Blake was revealed as the winner of this year's Barclaycard Mercury Prize for his fantastic album Overgrown at a ceremony in London. He beat out Arctic Monkeys, Disclosure, Foals, and even David Bowie to claim this year's trophy. Blake, ever the lovely gent, said "I'm gonna thank my parents for showing me the importance of being self-sufficient" upon the acceptance of the accolade.

The Barclaycard Mercury Prize is an annual ceremony that crowns the best album of the last twelve months put out by a British or Irish born band.
