Arcade Fire recently revealed the existence and release date for their new, untitled album. To ramp up the excitement, James Murphy, former frontman for LCD Soundsystem, spoke with NME to flesh out the details of his involvement with the project.

Murphy had previously confirmed that his role in the studio was to suggest directions to fine tune the songs. When NME inquired about the album's completion, Murphy was quick to point out that his piece was finished, but the band is constantly creating: "…I came back to the studio…to mix and they'd written two new songs for the album!" Murphy also revealed that singer Regine Chassagne was deeply involved in recording despite the impending birth of her and husband (and Arcade Fire frontman) Win Butler's first child, working until the last possible moment.

Murphy was more vague when asked about the album’s sound, but did tell NME "it's really fucking epic!"

Arcade Fire drop their new LP October 29 via Merge.
