Former LCD Soundsystem frontman James Murphy has been keeping himself busy recently, hasn't he? After working with Arcade Fire on their new album Reflektor, the New York producer is to produce metal band Cavalera Conspiracy, a Max and Igor Cavalera (former Sepultura) project .

"James Murphy approached me with the record idea, but eventually suggested some others," says Igor Cavalera to the NME. "To start with, he wants only the two of us in the studio, like a metal version of the White Stripes. He also wants nothing but the two of us on stage. Murphy asked us to start from scratch as a duo. According to him, 'this will come to be the heaviest record of our careers'. He promised me that."

This is probably the most unusual project for James Murphy yet, who also remixed a new track by Bowie for the upcoming special edition version of The Next Day'. [via Clash Music]
