Canadian post-punk duo Japandroids have announced the long-awaited follow-up to 2012's Celebration Rock. The new album, entitled Near To The Wild Heart Of Life arrives on Januray 27th via Anti-.

Near To The Wild Heart Of Life follows in the footsteps of Japandroids' first two albums in comprising 8 tracks, which they say is "the standard template for a great rock n roll album: Raw Power by The Stooges, Born To Run by Bruce Springsteen, Marquee Moon by Television, IV by Led Zeppelin, Horses by Patti Smith, Paranoid by Black Sabbath, Remain In Light by Talking Heads, Master Of Puppets by Metallica, etc." They're certainly placing themselves among esteemed names there, but given their track record so far it's justified.
