Today we're happy to be premiering this short film created by London-based Soulection affiliate, Jay Prince. Recently, Mr. Prince featured on the quite exciting Stüssy x Soulection compilation with a track called 'All You', featuring blissed-out beats and rapid-fire rap – "I ain't in it for the money, man, I'm here to make change" – for an uplifting, sunny-day vibe (check it out at the bottom of this post, if you like).

Presented by Dreamclub Films, the film – called Notes. – has been made in celebration of Jay Prince's upcoming EP, BeFor Our Time, scheduled for release next week on 19th January via Soulection. 'All You', the track I mentioned, will be on the EP.

YouTube description:

Short film of an artist finding themselves through experiences of life and art, an insight and a reflection of what goes through the mind of the artist when in the creative process and becoming better.

"I do this for the music not the music charts," says one of the scattered subtitles of the piece, echoing the thoughts of Jay Prince as he wanders over a bridge in a Japanese-style garden, concluding that, "love… is the truth." Music from the man himself plays throughout, only breaking into more full-bodied song format towards the end – a hint of what's to come from his EP, perhaps.

Hey! We interviewed Jay Prince last August, go check it out!
