With just a couple of weeks until the release of new album Anak Ko, Jay Som has gifted us another new track in the gliding 'Nighttime Drive'.

Melina Duterte has said that she wanted to "just wanted to make a more groovy record,” with Anak Ko, and you can certainly hear that in the wiggling undercurrent of 'Nighttime Drive'. This pulls the song along, while strings and Duterte's plaintive voice bring us to her checked-out seeming mindset. Everything glazes past her, and even somewhat suspect acts like "shoplifting at the Whole Foods" just pass as everyday occurrences. 'Nighttime Drive' offers a different angle on Jay Som's usually peppy dreampop, adding depth and breadth to their palette.

The video for 'Nighttime Drive' was created by Han Hale who says it's “a homage to the song's namesake; the song is about being a band on the road and the comradery involved.”
