Melina Duterte aka Jay Som has revealed the release of her new record: it comes out August 23rd on Lucky Number and it's called Anak Ko (which means "my child" in Filipino).

Duterte has stated that on the new record she's taken heavy inspiration from Cocteau Twins and Alanis Morissette - and this can certainly be heard in new single 'Superbike'. At once possessing the anthemic, strumming-with-purpose poise of Alanis, but washed over with the dreamy haze of Cocteau Twins, 'Superbike' is an immediate delight. It might take a few listens to decipher what Jay Som is singing about, but the mood and tone is pure carefree sunshine - perfectly timed to make us listen through the summer as we anticipate the release of Anak Ko in August. Check out the lyric video for 'Superbike' below.
