Jay-Z's part ownership of the New Jersey Nets is soon headed to Brooklyn and he's already made a big step in making sure no one mistakes the team for the constantly underachieving squad of recent years. With a new color scheme to complement a stylish & minimal logo, he has reported to have created what he describes as "the new badge for Brooklyn." After a long vacancy of sports irrelevancy, Jay-Z hopes to have sparked up interest for his hometown city with a bold statement for the team's aesthetics and also, perhaps a revamped roster.

The striking combination of black and white for the Net's team design is a powerful statement that Hov is hoping to strike up even more buzz for the newly arriving team. The Nets, owned by Russian billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov, have reported that Jay-Z actually designed the new logo, which according to the team demonstrates the confidence they have in their new direction for the relocating team. "The new colors and logos are examples of our commitment to update and refine all aspects of the team", the team said in a statement. No word yet on if the team will throw up the Roc diamond during their pregame introductions but it's already a very big statement that'll be seen for years to come.
