Originally sung by Phyllis Nelson in 1984, 'Mover Closer' is Jessy Lanza's first cover since her debut album Pull My Hair Back.

Waving the flag for ethereal R&B with her whispering vocals and synth manipulation, Canadian vocalist and producer Jessy Lanza has taken a classic 80s chart topper and removed its upbeat retro vibe in favour of dreamy echoing synths for her ultra-modern version of 'Mover Closer'.

The track shows a different side to Lanza as Pull My Hair Back features an array of 80s and 90s influences that take pride in being the most successful tracks on her album and suggests that her debut wasn't everything she has to offer.
