“My maxim is: if it feels scary to say it, it’s the thing you must say."

Joan As Police Woman has returned with their fifth album Damned Devotion, the Brooklyn-based band's first as a trio since 2014’s The Classic.

‘Warning Bell’, the first single from the album, has been described by lead singer and multi-instrumentalist, Joan Wasser as, “about being a romantic and the naiveté that goes along with it.”

The single is a '70s influenced ballad of regret and remorse, with Wasser’s beautiful vocals accompanied by a stripped-back gentle composition. ‘Warning Bell’ with its bare-all cathartic lyricism finds Wasser in a fragile state, “My maxim is: if it feels scary to say it, it’s the thing you must say” Wasser further states.

Damned Devotion is available on 9th February 2018 via Play It Again Sam.
