Yes, that's right, Joanna Newsom has announced a new album. The follow up to her 2010 album Have One on Me is scheduled for release on 23rd October via Drag City, when it'll be available in CD, LP and cassette form, as well as digitally. You can pre-order Divers here.

For now, she's released a music video for the first cut to be taken from the album, 'Sapokanikan'. The wintry visuals have been directed by Paul Thomas Anderson; makes sense, given that Newsom narrated his 2015 film, Inherent Vice.

Fun fact: "Sapokanikan" is the name given by the Lenape people to a "habitation site and cultivated area by the cove on the Hudson River at present day Gansevoort Street, Greenwich Village" (thanks Wikipedia).
