Back in 2014, Chromatics announced the release of their Dear Tommy album. But it never came. Johnny Jewel's manager has now explained why.

In a lengthy Twitter thread, it was explained that Johnny ended up destroying every copy of the album in a warehouse following a near death experience in December of 2015. "Christmas day 2015 Johnny almost died in Hawaii,” he said. “I don’t want to go into details, but I’m sure he’ll discuss it in interviews at some point. When he came back home to California he destroyed all copies of Tommy. 15K CDs & 10K vinyl in the Italians warehouse in Glendale, all gone."

But it looks as though the album has been re-recorded and it will still eventually see the light of day. "Nothing’s changed except it’s better."
