In an exciting announcement, Julia Holter is readying the release of her new album, Loud City Song, for August. Her third release in the last three years, Loud City Song is described as "warm and elegant but also experimental," which sounds like Holter's sound is maturing while keeping her experimental roots intact. Made from tracks that predate Holter's debut, these nine songs have been slowly brought to life over the last few years through the inspiration of the 1944 novella "Gigi", and her hometown of Los Angeles.

Holter is also sharing the official video for 'World', the opening cut off the new record. 'World' is a stark, minimal track that spends almost two minutes with Holter singing nearly acapella over the occasional waft of piano. Horns and piano gradually grow into the song, always with Holter’s ethereal vocals gliding over them.

Filmed by Rick Bahto on Super 8mm, the 'World' video follows Holter and mates through transit stations and city streets, switching from black and white to color. The video visually translates the intimacy of the song beautifully.

Loud City Song will be released via Domino Records on August 19 and should be available for pr-order soon. Julia Holter will be performing in the UK around the album's release at the following dates: the Green Man Festival on August 16, Beacons Festival on August 17, and at Cecil Sharp House August 20.
