Apparently a ‘supergroup’ doesn’t have to feature Damon Albarn to be a supergroup (who would have known eh?) Besides that Kannberg 1664 isn’t your ordinary supergroup (if such a thing exists), they’re a supergroup Pavement cover band, comprised of Johnny Foreigner’s Alexi, Craig (Internet Forever), Aaron (Electricity and Lust) and Dan (4 or 5 Magicians). The band originally formed in May 2010 to perform a one-off cover set at a special evening to celebrate Pavement’s reunion. After reforming in August 2010 to play ‘Reading 1992’, the group have now reformed for a second time (and possibly final time) to play There’s Nothing Wrong With Covers III, a special Christmas show at Brixton’s The Windmill, appearing alongside the likes of Nirvana, REM and Guided By Voices.
