Sometimes it seems that the only thing that influences Kanye West is Kanye West himself, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. However, J Dilla's power over Yeezy is well known. In the 30 minute outtake released by Rolling Stone to celebrate the release of the Stones Throw documentary, Our Vinyl Weighs A Tonne (which is out on DVD and BluRay), Kanye waxes lyrical about one of the most influential people in hip-hop, explaining how everything he does, he does in an attempt to please Dilla if he were alive today. It's a sweet little snippet of the interview in which he also briefly mentions working with Madlib on beats for some upcoming projects.

"It's amazing: How could we lose Biggie, Pac, Dilla, Steve Jobs, Michael Jackson? It almost feels like the devil's winning. We gotta make music and we think, 'If Dilla was alive, would he like this?'"
