Following the July incident in Los Angeles International Airport with a paparazzo, Kanye West was taken to court (represented by his lawyer Blair Berkr) yesterday to respond to the charges of criminal battery and attempted grand theft towards photographer Carlos Ramos.

While prosecutors requested that a judge order West to attend anger management classes due to the violent nature of the confrontation, their request has been denied: West has been ordered to stay at least 10 yards from Ramos, and apparently the judge advised the photographer to do the same.

The paparazzo vs. West story made the headlines all over the world, with both artists and fans taking sides regarding Kanye's attitude (apparently self-defence) and the right to one's privacy, even as a public figure.

However, West took the chance to express his respect his respect for French paparazzi: "I like how you guys move out here," he said last September when talking to a French photographer. "You've got respect for the people you photograph. You're not around peoples' houses and stuff like that." [via HipHopDX]
