According to a casting call for extras, Kanye West has agreed to executive produce the music behind Underground, a scripted period drama that "follows a group of slaves who plan a daring escape from a Georgia plantation to cross 600 miles to freedom, aided along the way by a secret abolitionist couple running a station on the Underground Railroad."

Underground is being written by Misha Green (Heroes, Sons of Anarchy) and Joe Pokaski (Heroes) and will star Jurnee Smollett-Bell (True Blood, Friday Night Lights) Christopher Meloni (Law & Order: SVU) and Aldis Hodge (Leverage).

Filming for Underground begins April 13th, WGN America will be airing the 10-episode saga next spring.
