After notable soundtrack roles on the excellent Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and the not so excellent Where The Wild Things Are, it's been revealed that Yeah Yeah Yeahs' frontwoman Karen O will provide a track called 'Strange Love' for a new Tim Burton Disney movie.

The movie is called Frankenweenie and is "a heartwarming tale between a boy and his dog" with a Tim Burton twist. It was originally filmed entirely in Black and White, but will be shown in 3D providing a new experience for cinema goers. Karen O, who seems excited about the project, said this to Rolling Stone about how she got involved with Tim Burton and her inspirations behind the track.

"Tim [Burton] wanted an unconventional unconditional love song. My music inspiration came out of the same era of B movie fright film references sprinkled throughout the film. I went in the direction of exotica and calypso stylistically because it's quirky, good vibes music of that era and when you throw in a theramin solo it's a marriage made in heaven. I remember Beetlejuice introducing me to the genius of Harry Belafonte's calypso record so I wanted to give a nod to that too. We ended up with a love song for the end of the film to the film! Frankenweenie is so special, it's an unbelievable honor to be involved with it."

Frankenweenie is released in the US on October 5th, with the rest of the soundtrack including Passion Pit, Grouplove, Robert Smith and AWOLNATION.
