'Daisy Bell' is the song HAL9000 sings in Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey while Dave slowly disconnects him, and although the tune has been covered numerous times, pop-art painter Mark Ryden has gathered an impressive line-up of musicians to record their own versions of the song.

As part of the show he opened last weekend in Los Angeles' Kohn Gallery called The Gay Nineties, Ryden will be releasing a limited edition compilation featuring the likes of Katy Perry, Tyler The Creator, Nick Cave, Weird Al, Devo's Mark Mothersbaugh and many more covering the 1892 song.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Mark Ryden only printed 999 copies of The Gay Nineties Old Tyme Music: Daisy Bell and is selling them for $99,99 - half of which will be sold directly at the exhibition, and the other set to go on sale next week via his website. The profits go to non-profit organisation Little Kids Rock.
