Congrats to Montreal-based producer Kaytranada, who took home the 2016 Polaris Prize for his most recent album 99.9%. The award is Canada's most prestigious music prize, handed out to the country's top album of the year, along with a $50,000 cheque.

Kaytranada was up against Grimes' Art Angels, Carly Rae Jepsen's EMOTION, PUP's The Dream Is Over and U.S Girls' Half Free.

"I hope that the next generation are not afraid to do more," he told press, post announcement. "They can just do whatever they want. They can do it yourself, like I did."
