From the Grammys to The Colbert Report to The Tonight Show, Kendrick Lamar's long history of debuting new music during TV appearances has made for an enticing reason to tune in. K.dot, in an interview with 2 Dope Boyz, recently explained that the reason he uses television as an opportunity to play unreleased and untitled material is because he sits on so much work that he knows could never fit on an album tracklist.

"You see all these performances on these late night shows," Kendrick started. "I got a chamber of material from the album that I was in love where sample clearances or something as simple as a deadline kept it off the album. But I think probably close to ten songs that I’m in love with that I’ll still play and still perform that didn’t make the cut."
