Kevin Devine & The Goddamn Band are returning to UK in just a few days as part of their anticipated EU tour. It's the first time the full band has packed up to travel over together in quite some time and fans are in for something much larger than Kevin has delivered today. From his humble home, the Brooklyn-based artist has delivered a series of acoustic covers as well as original songs from his new album Instigator. Hear Instigator's 'Daydrunk' and a cover of Elliott Smith's 'Ballad Of Big Nothing' below.

"I've been learning approximations of Elliott’s songs by ear and in standard tuning since 1998," Kevin said. "When I want to get the little bits I’m not hearing clearly, I’ll resort to the internet, and it’s only this past year I decided to take a crack at the wealth of alternate tunings that make his singular voicings possible (or, at least easier). One of his litany of perfect postcard character sketches - “watching the parade with pinpoint eyes, full of smoldering anger” is Carver-esque in its economy & violence - with impossibly cool guitar lines & some of his sweetest vocal melodies. A song that is always in my head."
