Hideo Kojima is already hard at work in development with Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, however he hasn't stopped mulling over ideas of remaking his magnum opus, Metal Gear Solid (Originally for the PSX), with his new Fox Engine.

According to Gamereactor, Kojima is currently looking for a studio that will take the project under their wing, updating the classic title with modern day visuals.

Personally, I can't stand the idea as I always feel some sort of magic is always lost with remakes (In any entertainment medium). However it won't be the first time we saw a Metal Gear Solid remake (2004 saw the release of the Gamecube remake entitled Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes). So, if it is indeed remade, I just hope Mr. Kojima finds a fantastic studio to work on such an epic title.
