In a recent interview with the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Courtney Love confirmed that a film about her late husband Kurt Cobain was being made, and was set to begin filming sometime next year.

It has not yet been confirmed who will be cast in the role of Cobain and when questioned on her top picks, Love stated that she would not be making that decision. Instead, she will pass the responsibility to the agents who she says are better qualified to make the final decision. Since talks about the biopic went public, Love says she has been propositioned by many who want to be involved in the project. She said: "I am letting my agency decide a lot of things because I don’t want to be talking to some hot producer guy, make out with him and then have him go, 'So, baby, do you own the rights?' That has happened." Even still, Love made it clear that she will be spearheading the project with creative input from her daughter Frances Bean Cobain as well as Nirvana bandmates Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl.

Love, set on managing the legacy of her late husband, also mentioned the possibility of a musical stage production in the future and in a separate interview said: "I would devote countless hours with an A-team to create a project that reflects Kurt in the most respectful but honest way possible, so that his story, his music and his legacy can be resurrected on stage for not only the world to see, but more importantly for our daughter to see. I know her father's spirit will be on that stage, and sitting in that theatre with her will be the most emotional experience of our lives."
