Having already announced extensive tour dates for later in the year, and shared the recent single 'Loading Zones', we knew it couldn't be long before Kurt Vile announced a new album, and today he has confirmed that his next LP is called Bottle It In, which arrives October 12th via Matador.

To couple with the announcement he has shared the 10-minute 'Bassackwards'. Vile's recent albums have come to show him as one of the most self-reflective and self-examining songwriters currently working, and 'Bassackwards' takes this even further. Ever zen-like, Vile's lyrics scan from the detail of his surroundings to confessional admissions of his own shortcomings. Musically, 'Bassackwards' is an effortlessly floating song that makes use of reversed guitar pitches to give it an ethereal quality, and Kurt's signature melodic playing giving it that troubadour twist. Check it out below.
