South Londoner Kwabs impressed us with his Pray For Love and Wrong or Right EPs earlier this year, and now he's shared his first proper single 'Walk', which got its first play earlier this evening on MistaJam's 1Xtra show.

Described as "my statement of intent: the first time I'm saying, here I am" by the man himself, it's a confident track with a massive hook that tells a story of drawing back from the pop cliche of having otherworldly invicibility, as he said in a statement "I wanted to look at the spirit of progression from a slightly different perspective, where you have to stop yourself rising to the drama of the moment." He continued:

“I’m really excited about 'Walk'. I wrote it late last year with Jonny Lattimer, about half-way through writing for the album. I guess it's about that age-old problem: 'I wanna stay but I've gotta leave...' I think people will get that. It is definitely coming at an exciting time for me too... I've had a hectic festival run this summer, performing at Wireless, Glastonbury, Latitude, and SGP and there are plenty more to come as well as my next London show at KOKO in October. I was humbled to see how quickly that one sold out and look forward to sharing more music and live experiences with my amazing fans.”

The single will be available to purchase on 29 September via Columbia Records.
