With a new LP, Mermaids on the Verandah, due out in a little more than a month, the Los Angeles-based psych rock outfit Send Medicine is debuting a compelling, new single, 'Corduroy.'

According to the band, 'Corduroy' was meant to "speak to the overwhelming confusion" at the time of its writing -- right in the midst of the 2016 U.S. presidential election. The band says the song deals also deals with "a lot of other ideas that go hand in hand with confusion -- chasing the muse, memories of teenage-hood, the death of a parent, the feelings of an autumn evening, its like a dream of your prom night half remembered-a hundred years later."

You can stream 'Corduroy' up above and pre-order Mermaids on the Verandah here, due out on July 27 through Honey House Records, via Send Medicine's IndieGoGo page.

Send Medicine will also be playing a record release show at the Moroccan Lounge in Los Angeles on July 26 (tickets here). But if you can't make it all the way out to LA for the show, don't fret! Send Medicine will be embarking on a full-fledged U.S. tour later this September and October. Be sure to check them out.
