For the past week, we've been getting to know the labels taking part in the Label Mates II Festival at the Shacklewell Arms. Taking a step behind the brilliant bands to the people that help them function, next up on the list is Hate Hate Hate Records.

Current: Bad Breeding.

Previous: Fat White Family, The Wytches, Theo Verney, Polterghost, Loom, Kagoule.

When did it start?

January 2013.

How did it start?

It started just as an offshoot of Luv Luv Luv Records. The idea was that it would be the evil younger brother, releasing heavier bands. It started out as a bit of a tongue in cheek idea but then it turned into something a bit more serious.

Your first release?

Loom - Get A Taste 7".

The best thing about running a label?

It's just nice to have the freedom to release the music from bands that you like.

What artists are you guys spinning the most at the moment?

The Verve, Slint, YG, Gucci Mane, Girl Band, Thee Oh Sees, Bobby Shmurda, Formation.

What do you look for in a new artist?

I guess it's just something that stands out to me, and a good live show.

Hate Hate Hate Records takeover the Shacklewell Arms tonight with a special headline show from Drenge. With support from the brilliant TRAAMS and Theo Verney, there's no doubt things are going to get a little wild. Sadly the show is sold out.
