Unfortunate news for Last.fm subscribers, on April 28th the website will be shutting down their subscription radio streaming service. None of the website's other features will be effected and streaming will continue to exist in some form via the sites new music player. However, the audio for this feature will now originate from Spotify, Youtube, and Vevo.

The official announcement came yesterday in a forum post from Last.fm's team. The staff credit considerable changes in music's landscape since the sites origins as the reason behind their own changes, and go on to outline a new M.O.; "In response we've chosen to focus on what we think Last.fm does best: scrobbling, music discovery, and recommendations."

Wanna hear a continuous stream of music on the site? Check out 405 Radio, or our New Music section. Both are filled with great music.
