Lauryn Hill and TIDAL have teamed up to put together a three-day charity festival. Diaspora Calling! will take place Wednesday night through Friday (April 13-15) at Kings Theatre in Brooklyn to "present a series of events, focusing on various forms of visual art, and featuring performances by artists from Africa, and throughout the African diaspora." Friday's list of performers include Hill, Machel Montano (Trinidad), Stephen "Ragga" Marley (Jamaica), Stonebwoy (Ghana), and more. The gallery will be open to the public on April 14-15 from noon to 4 p.m, while Friday's event will be livestreamed via TIDAL.

"Diaspora Calling! is a collection of works intended to celebrate the rich tapestry of artists from the African Diaspora while also illumining persistent and irrepressible themes," Lauryn said in a statement. "Even if we work independently, we are a resounding collective voice, both reconciling and embracing our relationship to history, our origins, our future and to ourselves."
