If you'll be in New York City any time between 7 April and 7 May, you should stop over at Rough Trade NYC. The record store is hosting an interactive gallery experience based around LCD Soundsystem's final show at Madison Square Garden in April of 2011. The exhibit is celebrating The Long Goodbye: LCD Soundsystem Live at Madison Square Garden, the proper audio release of that farewell concert. It'll be released on Record Store Day (19 April) as a 5xLP vinyl box set, and after that it'll be released digitally on 19 May via Parlophone.

The exhibit will explore exclusive videos, advanced pressings of the box set, and some photos taken at the show from the photographer Ruvan Wijesooriya that you'll be able to take home with you. Rough Trade co-owner Stephen Godfroy said the following in a press release about the exhibit "The joy of having a record shop is being able to celebrate music as an art form, and over the last decade there have been few artists who've evolved music more as art form than LCD Soundsystem. Hosting this retrospective experience is therefore an incredibly synergistic and humbling moment for us, one we're incredibly excited to share." I'm pretty jealous of anyone that gets to attend.
