Leftenent is the solo project of Sydney-based studio engineer Antonia Gauci, who has recently unveiled her stunning new single - ‘We Can Do Better’.

Following on from her enchanting debut cut ‘Control’ (released November 2016), the young songstress continues to impress, with the follow-up just as endearing and mesmerising.

From the outset, ‘We Can Do Better’ is dark, haunting and mysterious, and all in the most beautifully intriguing way. The airy dream-laden track glides along effortlessly with its layers of muted piano, floating synths and melancholy vocals. It rarely shifts from its consistent dynamic; only lifting and pulling back when absolutely needed.

Leftenent describes the motivation and meaning behind the song: "'We Can Do Better' is the reveal of the personal, unnecessary and occasionally destructive attachment I have with my phone and social media. It’s an observation of my surroundings, something I feel people can relate to."

By day, Gauci is a studio engineer and has worked alongside the likes of Macklemore, Ryan Lewis, Will.i.Am, Alison Wonderland and DMA’s.

Intricate experimental-electronica pop that is as daring, just as it is delectable. I simply cannot wait to hear more.
