When a band has a 'hit', it's often difficult for a band to please the people that liked that song to see past that 'sound' when the band evolves, or to convince the people that didn't like that song to give their other songs a listen. Thankfully despite the early career 'hit', Nada Surf have been slowly burning away, releasing great albums along the way. Will they ever have the commercial success they had in the beginning? Not sure it matters any more, but with tracks such as 'When I Was Young' sounding so big, we don't see why not.

The track is taken from their forthcoming new album, The Stars Are Indifferent to Astronomy, which is out pn January 23rd.
