New York City-via-Minneapolis rock band The Hold Steady's sixth album Teeth Dreams is out on 25th March through Washington Square Records, but you can stream the first cut 'I Hope This Whole Thing Didn't Frighten You' now. It's been a long four years since their last LP Heaven Is Whenever, but with the sound of the new track, it looks like it was worth the wait.

The band recently spoke to Rolling Stone about the recording process, which took place over two years and it's their first album with longtime touring guitarist Steve Selvidge recording it. Vocalist Craig Finn said that "We were looking to make a big rock record," he admits. "Maybe it's less wild but in some ways that makes it a bigger record.” They're definitely channeling some Foo Fighter-vibes on the new track, which you can stream below.
