Have you ever been in a situation where your friends invite you a party and you really don’t want to be there? 18 year-old Canadian singer/songwriter Alessia has. So she wrote a (really good) song about it.

Speaking to The Fader, Alessia explained "This one time I went to a party and while there, I realized how much I hated it, along with every other party I had ever gone to. We wrote about it the next day." Over the Pop & Oak and Sebastian Kole production (which samples the strings from Wallace Collection's 'Daydream') Alessia asks, "What am I doing here?" and speaks candidly about being in a situation she's clearly uncomfortable with. "... An anti-social pessimist but usually I don't mess with this and I know you only mean the best" she coos, while carefully riding the beat.

Known for her acoustic cover videos on YouTube, Alessia linked a deal with Def Jam Records. 'Here' acts as her debut single for the iconic label.
