Featured on its upcoming self-titled EP, Houston trio JERK's new single 'Delicacy' bounces off a lot of spectrums. From haunting new wave, to post-punk Bowie, and even minimal disco-ish elements mixed in between, the single captures a band that goes beyond traditional measurements.

In completing the new EP, out November 11th, multi-instrumentalist Austin Smith reveals that his intentions were slightly different. "I originally wanted to make slow disco songs," he said. "I’d been a layer-heavy songwriter in the past and I wanted to experiment with limitation. Before, I’d use anything at my disposal to fill maximum room in a song, so for JERK I worked inside a set of rules where I couldn’t do that, which forced some inventive creativity on my end."
