Summer time means every man, woman, and child are making mixtapes, each vying to soundtrack your BBQ or even find a permanent place on your MP3 player of choice as you jet off to some beautiful tropic to chill in the foreign sunshine. Yet while those releasing mixtapes were doing so with a hint of irony, seeing as merely weeks ago it was still raining, and so were merely created to take you away to sunnier place, now we have mixtapes designed specifically for the weather. And boy is it scorching hot right now!

Now we have DJ Jazzy Jeff and Mick Boogie dropping their annual Summertime mixtape, in its fourth instalment this year. A mix of chilled classics such as Erykah Badu's 'On & On' and Prince's 'Musicology', as well as the more upbeat in Martha & The Vandella's 'Heat Wave' and…erm…Smash Mouth's 'Rock Star' and Oasis' 'Wonderwall'. Not too sure about the last two but the rest of the mixtape is a fantastically smooth affair, perfect for cranking up by the pool.

Mick said in a press statement, "Jazzy Jeff and I are so thrilled to once again unleash [another] Summertime mix into the world. This is our fourth year. Jeff created something timeless in the 90s with [the song] 'Summertime', and we are so excited to keep pushing it further and further to new generations. Enjoy it and see us in a city near you."
