You may remember Jessica Sanchez as a contestant on the 11th season of American Idol. She won rave reviews for her various interpolations of the likes of Whitney Houston, Etta James and performed a sensational rendition of 'And I'm Telling You' with the legendary Jennifer Holliday, which will no doubt go down as one of American Idol's most memorable moments.

After branching away from Interscope Records, Sanchez has been enjoying a successful independent run, touring across the world, scoring number one singles and albums in the Philippines, and supporting Andrea Bocelli. New single 'Call Me' is a sultry R&B cut reminiscent of the likes of Ariana Grande but with a slightly more mature edge to it. Speaking on the track, Sanchez told us via email: "I was telling my friend and fellow artist Lanita Smith about the new sound I was trying to go for and the direction I wanted to go with my new music. She shared with me a song her company Muff Entertainment had been working on, and I was immediately drawn to the flow of the track, and the '90s R&B vibe it had."

After spending much of her time touring, Sanchez is excited to continue work on her second studio album and assures us that more new music is on the way. "It's crazy to finally have some new music to share with my fans, they have been very patient so I'm excited to see what they think. This is just a preview of what's to come from my music, so it means a lot to have so much support from everyone and hearing all the feedback helps me continue to grow as an artist."

'Call Me' is available now on iTunes, Spotify and all good digital platforms.
